Hello all!
The next version of the cfsfdisk partitioning tool is taking shape. I don't
have access now to my hardware collection for testing, so if anyone has some
time to run it for a trial would be greatly appreciated. No need to
repartition or format, I'd just like to know if the geometry detection is ok,
and if it's easy to use enough. As long as the "direct write" option is not
enabled in setup nothing can go wrong, but it can also be used on spare disk
otherwise unused for real. If it displays strange messages about
geometry/partitioning problems I'd like get the output of the "save table to
file" command to see what can be done about it.
Changes over 0.10b:
Improved(?) font
Default device number set when prompted
Displays DOS version
Extra spaces removed from model/serial/revision display
Y/N prompts display default choice
Geometry setting and LBA mode toggle moved into "expert geometry setup"
Geometry questions only asked if it couldn't be determined or were incorrect
Command for save/load partition table to/from file
Commands give always a kind of feedback when executed.
Countdown while formatting for progress display
Partition start alignment when CF card is detected
Default partition size is 2 GiB, not the whole disk
Boot sector geometry mismatch detection, invalid geometry detection
Uses actual geometry instead of default for CHS disks
No partition prompt if only one is present
Default for partition questions
Default partition and disklabel is the actual label
Create default labels for partitions
Make sure there's a boot partition selected before writing
