Well guess what? I seem to have every last shred of paper from the course EXCEPT the running sheet! Doesn't that just figure - good ol Murphy's Law! But I have been thinking about it and I am pretty sure that the 6 leadership messages were:
* Delegation - spa scene * Flexibility - monkey bars * Sense of direction - blair witch * Calming influence - office 1 * Communication - office 2 * Understanding/ emotional awareness - office 3
The only thing is, I don't remember which order they went in. Can anyone think of any others? I was also thinking that since there are six (if I have remembered them all), we should all be assigned one and be ready to tell a story about it (you know how they stressed the importance of story telling). Okay so Deb won't be there so we may have to think of a way around that...
Zoe, just to fill you in - our idea for the presentation on Friday is that we replay our movie and pause it at each lesson and discuss what we have learnt from it. We are going to meet up sometime this week (was it Wed lunch?) and finalise the details so any suggestions would be very welcome.
I think that covers it all so far - sorry again guys...

I think I'm getting the shooting order confused with the actual appearance order of the video...
Maybe we should just write our assigned pieces and then take a quick look at the video on the day to determine our running order?
Any thoughts?
Cheers
p.s. I don't think we've got much to worry about re: the presentation...I've been chatting with some members of the other teams, and from all accounts it would appear that we're the most together out of the whole intake...nice to know!

Frommy rough preliminary jottings I have the following order (although I'm not sure how much it changed during filming/ editing). Just to clarify who's doing which scene, is everyone happy with the following?
1. calming influence, good communicator < "Shut up, just shut up!" AND "What do you think boss?" "Huh?" > Lorna 2. sense of direction < Blair Witch> Zoë 3. motivate and engender trust < monkey bars> Mark 4. listen and empathise < two thumbs> Anna 5. delegate authority <- spa scene> Miles
Cheers

Okay, so we all do our 4 minute presso on the assigned scene...
Is everyone happy with that?

That sounds great! Thanks for pulling that all together.
Do we need to catch up on Wed or are we happy to just wing it? I'm with Miles and think we've probably got enough info to do some considered thinking ourselves though am happy to be voted off the Island.
We'll need to give some thought to tying our individual summaries/learnings into 1.) our values and 2.) examples/models we discussed during the four days and 3.) how we manage the intro/conclusion.
We had the pool table scene, toilet scene and the Mark/Miles and I scene from the bar..... not sure if their messages are captured below or not.... We had 12 scenes I think in total so I think that makes 10 scenes plus intro and out.
Cheers L

The list of bar scenes inc toilet, pool table & driving away were all just means to link the different leadership scenarios so we probably don't need to include them.
The list looks good as long as everyone is happy with giving a story about the leadership topic. Since we acted in the scenes arbitrarily it shouldn't matter who relates to which story. Am I off track here? Are we relating our individual summaries/learnings as they relate to the leadership topic from the video? Or just in general? Oh dear I think am I just getting confused here...
I am happy to leave it til Friday if that is the consensus!
Anna

Thanks Anna, I think you're on track. i.e. it doesn't matter who presents the message from the scene but rather that it's relevant to all of us in the group as leaders. We're relating our individual summaries about the topic from the video is my understanding, however if there's time at the end, then we can do a more general group discussion, however there probably won't be. I assume there'll be opportunities throughout the day to relay back to the team various other learnings.

Hi
The list of bar scenes inc toilet, pool table & driving away were all just means to link the different leadership scenarios so we probably don't need to include them.
The list looks good as long as everyone is happy with giving a story about the leadership topic. Since we acted in the scenes arbitrarily it shouldn't matter who relates to which story. Am I off track here? Are we relating our individual summaries/learnings as they relate to the leadership topic from the video? Or just in general? Oh dear I think am I just getting confused here...
I am happy to leave it til Friday if that is the consensus!
Anna

Cheers L

Frommy rough preliminary jottings I have the following order (although I'm not sure how much it changed during filming/ editing). Just to clarify who's doing which scene, is everyone happy with the following?
1. calming influence, good communicator < "Shut up, just shut up!" AND "What do you think boss?" "Huh?" > Lorna 2. sense of direction < Blair Witch> Zoë 3. motivate and engender trust < monkey bars> Mark 4. listen and empathise < two thumbs> Anna 5. delegate authority <- spa scene> Miles
Cheers
Mark

I think I'm getting the shooting order confused with the actual appearance order of the video...
Maybe we should just write our assigned pieces and then take a quick look at the video on the day to determine our running order?
Any thoughts?
Cheers
p.s. I don't think we've got much to worry about re: the presentation...I've been chatting with some members of the other teams, and from all accounts it would appear that we're the most together out of the whole intake...nice to know!

Hi all
Well guess what? I seem to have every last shred of paper from the course EXCEPT the running sheet! Doesn't that just figure - good ol Murphy's Law! But I have been thinking about it and I am pretty sure that the 6 leadership messages were:
* Delegation - spa scene * Flexibility - monkey bars * Sense of direction - blair witch * Calming influence - office 1 * Communication - office 2 * Understanding/ emotional awareness - office 3

No, I think we've agreed to prepare our individual aspects and come prepared on Fri and use the 1 hour to firm it up and see how it will flow together and plan the intro and conclusion (and fly by the seat of our pants a bit).

Hi!
