The baptism of Alma.

Pastor Emilio Núñez baptized Alma November 15, 2009. She testified how many excuses kept her from following Jesus Christ in baptism, but no more!

"Were I asked to focus the New Testament message in three words, my proposal would be adoption through propitiation, and I do not expect ever to meet a richer or more pregnant summary of the gospel than that." —J.I. Packer

Remembering His Grace, Begging His Mercy

Fifteen reasons unique to Christians for which we can be thankful come from the well-beloved Psalm 23. The Lord desires that we respond to Him joyfully is the lesson from Psalm 100.

Linda Covington's father had a stroke last week and was taken to a hospital in San Francisco. As you pray for his health, also ask God to give his family wisdom in the decisions they face.

Johnnie Pyburn asks prayer for a couple that recently gave birth. Their baby has only one kidney that functions at about 70%.

The Korean congregation is preparing for their Bible Conference that will be held between Christmas and the New Year. Be praying that each one participating will understand the Gospel.

Pam Holmberg was told this week that her virus may last two months. She is feeling better except when she tries to eat.

Woody Blalock was able to go home for dinner Thanksgiving Day! It was discovered that he has pneumonia (which may be a cause for the pain in his back).

Continue to pray that Pastor Tony Núñez can complete his Ph.D. requirements in the next few months.

Berniece Cosgrove's nephew, Kenny has congestive heart failure and pneumonia. However, he is off the morphine and respirator. Brian Michael's surgery to repair his arm was completed and has already reduced his pain.

Sherry Cosgrove will be flying from Oregon a week from Monday (12-14) for a visit.

The Christmas Recital is next Sunday evening. Ask God for His blessing in preparing and that He will be honored in the hearing and receiving of His Word.

Stella Rogers grandson, Dale, has found a hospital that will permit the surgery Dale needs! Stella had some cancers removed from her hand and face this week and is recuperating well.

We pray for the physical safety. emotional stability, and spiritual awakening of the men and women of our military forces fulfilling their responsibilities.

We had more than ten people trust Christ for the first time at our church. Most are friends or family members of a co-worker of Pastor Jorge. They ask for prayer that God will give them wisdom on how to disciple everyone. Read the entire letter. Send an email.

Sue Watt, International Student Ministry
It is great to be back working with people again rather than writing! The Gospel booklet still needs the final revisions, but I need more teaching experience to determine what changes to make. Read the entire letter. Send an email.

A short note

I got sick the day before Thanksgiving day. The last bulletin to be sent out didn't get done, so I have included the missionary letters from that time as well as the most current letters. There is plenty to read, each with good news and prayer requests, too.

My reward for getting well by Sunday was to be called on to preach in the evening service. Pastor Rigsby was at Emergency with a painful and infected toe. He is better and must keep his foot elevated.

Send an email to Jim Covington.
