I found Proverbs 1:32-33 instructive and comforting a couple of days
ago.
"For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the
prosperity of fools shall destroy them. But whoso hearkeneth unto me
shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil."
These two verses contrast the results of the world's folly and God's
wisdom. One leads to destruction (in more ways than one) and the other
to life. I am bombarded daily with folly, from both outside myself and
within. It is an unending, relentless assault.
"Help me, O Word of God incarnate, to hearken (listen and learn, both
physically and spiritually, and act accordingly) unto Thee, O Wisdom
from on high, so that my fear of all the evil thoughts, words, and
deeds surrounding me 'stands down' because of Thy Truth, unchanged,
unchanging."
My mom and I will be in Texas October 6 to 19.
