Can anyone give guidance as to the best way to implement the necessary code to utilize Google Analytics. Google Analytics requires that you insert code into your pages so that the end user's browser will report to Google where it's been on your site. With normal HTML pages, this seems as though it would be pretty straight forward. With WebSphere Portal, we're not so sure. The only place that we can think would be in the code that's accessible while building content, but that really isn't per-page reporting then as the same content can exist on more that one page and each page can have more than one piece of content. I would think that those factors would skew reporting quite a bit.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Chris

David,

Your presentation was great. I think that I need the audio portion of it too though. Sorry for my confusion, but I'm having trouble with two of the main points.

1. I cannot seem to locate the Google Analytics Management Portlet. I searched developerworks and found no reference to it.
2. I am not clear on how you "insert the Google Analytics javascript" into a page as described on slide 40.

Also, I see that this is for portal 6.1. We are on portal 6.0 - will it work for us?

Thank you again for your help.
Chris
