Failure to install 6.1.0.2 FixPack (WP_PTF_6102)

Exception: WUPD0248E: Fix pack update failure: The processing of fix pack WP_PTF_6102, component wp.ptf.preconfig failed. See the lo g file /bhc/IBM/WebSphere/PortalServer/version/log/20091007_230729_WP_PTF_6102_wp.ptf.preconfig_install.log for processing details.
Regarding error #1, the only notes I've found on this was the WAS version was incorrect. Before installing the fix pack I installed WAS 6.1.0-WS-WAS-LinuxX64-FP0000027.pak and 6.1.0-WS-WASSDK-LinuxX64-FP0000027.pak successfully to meet the prereq's. I restarted WAS and WPS and everything was happy. The only other note I found was to verify my permissions on the server and specifically to the /tmp drive. No problem there, this is Linux and I'm running the installer as root. I've run the setupcmdline.sh also.

I have a suspicion the 1st error is related to this one. DB2 could not be established connection. To test the connection, I ran the following tests; BOTH returned successful build messages.
$/bhc/IBM/WebSphere/wp_profile/ConfigEngine/ConfigEngine.sh
validate-database-driver -DTransferDomainList=release,community,feedback,likeminds
$/bhc/IBM/WebSphere/wp_profile/ConfigEngine/ConfigEngine.sh
validate-database-connection -DTransferDomainList=release,community,feedback,likeminds
I have tried new versions of the Portal Update Installer and also re-downloaded the fix pack 2. No luck.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Were you able to figure out what the issue is ?? Same issue here, let
me know if you were to figure out..
I have similar configuration: WAS 6.1.0.27, WPS 6.1.0.0, Aix 5.3.x
