We use free floats (Freely floating fiat money) to conduct all our credit based sales where payment is due in future and use it as unit of account.
A free float by definition is some thing indefinite. As regards this money its past has become known today it may be said to be nearly known but who knows what it will be tomorrow.

We know that Murabaha is based upon cost + profit concept where time of payment may act as an ancillary (component) to the whole payment. Hence, time of payment confuses me with the time value of money. While I know that time value of money is interest.
I came up with an idea that there can be two kinds of time values. I would like to say that there are two kinds of time values, as below:

As-Salaam Brethren,
Murabaha allows the two parties to come together and agree upon a higher price for a commodity in terms of trade. Where home-financing is concerned, the price of the house is financed by the bank, and the buyer buys it at a higher price. Again, agreed upon by both parties.
My problem is that, does this mark-up represent the bank's cost of transaction, or it is just another interest-based loan. The fact that it is not in fractional form and is not compounded doesn't necessary make it interest-free loan.

A wants to borrow $1000 from B. B suggests that they check the price of Gold in the markets and they find that it is $1000 for 1 ounce of gold. So they agree that A will receive $1000 in cash but as the price of 1 ounce of Gold. The repayment will be a year later for the price of 1 ounce of gold a year later. A year later 1 ounce of gold is worth $1100, so A pays back $1100 to B.
