i'm getting an applescript error saying that the ls: /tmp/restore/
App*: No such file or directory (1)

i think i messed up because what i did was just copy the contents of
the library folder and archived it. instead of making an individual
backup and now for some reason it gives me that error. is there a
still a way to restore? or will i just have to start from scratch?

are there steps or a script to manually over write the root and user
prefs
i think i got the apps on my machine but without over writing the
prefs, they can't be seen

Akume,

can you describe in more detail what's your situation and what you've
done?
Why do you want to restore and did you delete the ../Library/iBackup
directory after archiving it?

However, I'd suggest you just do a standard backup again and just
leave the files.
Or, if you need to restore, go to "Individual Restore" and select the
archive you have created.

This all should work.

Cheers,
Kerry

well i was upgrading to the 2.1 firmware. so i created a standard
backup. then instead of creating an individual backup, i copied the
standard backup files into an archive file to save time so i wouldn't
have to wait to do another backup. this created some unforeseen error
and when i tried to restore from the archive it wouldn't let me.

in any event, i just decided to start from scratch, did a fresh
restore and reinstalled all my cydia apps. i backed up everything
according to the readme so hopefully it should work fine for the
future.

thanks.
