On behalf of the IAR, I would like to thank all of you for a well planned
and executed celebration of the opening of the IAR. Your dedication,
sincerity, and understanding of the importance of unified diversity made
this a unique and very successful event, Alamdullah. The prep work for the
event and the coordination between the women (Sis. Iffat), management (Br.
Mustafa), safety/security (Br. AbdulAhad), and educational (Br. Khalid/Br.
Samir) committees was fantastic.
The food was very good and properly emphasized our community's diversity.
JAK Br. Mohamed for taking care of the food. Br. Kevin and Br. Hisham
Sarsour did an excellent job by keeping the program on time.
The estimated number of the sisters that attended is between 500-600 and
about 800 brothers. The total number of attendees is estimated to be
between 1300 and 1400. That is a record for the number of the people who
have attended an event at the IAR's facilities.
My special thanks to Br. Ameenullah who spent a lot of time fixing
and adjusting the sound system before the beginning of the event which was
not part of his job as a member of the safety and security team.
Br. Khalid/Br. Samir (coordinators of the celebration event): You brothers
did a great job in coordinating all the details of this event. I would
appreciate it if you could write a summary report for the event,
emphasizing the positive aspects and areas for improvement; it will be
helpful and for future events.
Again, JAK and Barak Allaho Feekum, may Allah bless all of you for your
continuing support of your Islamic Center.
The opening celebration of the newly expanded building was a great success.
