We just upgraded out clients from 6.3 to 6.5, and one of the things
that doesn't seem to work anymore is using \n to get a newline in
things like the ActiveX Text primitive. We have quite a few of these
labels on the screens we've built so far, and I can't seem to find any
way to get these multiline values now.

How do you do this now?

Matt,

Unfortunately, this was a bug injected into the 6.5 software while
attempting to fix another problem. We're terribly sorry :(

6.6 is being released next week which fixes the problem. If you let me know
your company name we'll be sure to ship the update next week. In fact, we
can upload it to your ftp site.

The only workaround until you install 6.6 is to break the multi-line text
into multiple ActiveX Text objects (one positioned just below the other).

Again, sorry for the problems,
Jim

Actually, there is one more option. We've made a "patch" to the 6.5
IadsPrimitives dll that will fix this problem. If you're interested, we
could send you that dll.

Of course, you'd have to install it on every PC with Iads, but if you're
limited to a control room, that task would be fairly easy. In fact, I think
the OpsConsole can update dlls with the "Distribute an IADS file" under the
"Tools" menu.

Jim,

It's good to know that it wasn't just something weird we were doing!

If you'll have the fix out next week, that's good enough for me. I'll
email you with my information.

Thanks!

Matt
