Event Monitor Control

I'm trying to create a display that shows an entry in a list,
triggered by an event, that shows a code value that's been manipulated
(converted from one numerical format to another). I'm playing with
the Event Monitor Control, and that seems to fit the bill, except I'm
not sure how to display a value as one of the columns. It looks like
it can display some text (Event Monitor Text column, I think), but not
the value of a parameter (or better, a derived equation). I want to
be able to display the irig time (which it does), and also the code
value, which I appears it can't do. I could create my own control,
but this is vert close to what I need. Thanks...

Matt,
The event monitor does not have the ability to display a value like you
describe. Maybe you can supplement that display with an IADS text object
that contains a derived equation. That equation can be a Latch() function
for the same condition as in the event monitor to hold the value when the
event turns true.

Adam,

I'm probably not the only one that would benefit from adding that as a
feature. Any chance that maybe that could make it in any upcoming
releases?

I have made a note of it and we will look into it for future releases of the
software. As with any suggestions made by our users we document them and
even mine the Google group for future enhancements to IADS.

Hi Matt,

I'm looking at the Event Monitor now, and thinking this functionality wouldn't be too difficult to add. Just so I understand correctly - you're looking to display the value of a parameter/equation that is *different* than the one that drives the event itself, correct? So, for example, there would be a new column (maybe called "Value") that accepts a parameter/derived equation, and displays the running value of that parameter/equation while the event is visible in the Event Monitor?

Hi Dale,

Yes that's correct (if we understand each other correctly). Make it
so that you can display that parameters value (the one specified in
the event logic) or be able to display a derived parameter that
manipulates that parameter in some way (as in a derived parameter). I
think we're saying the same thing, but just wanted to make sure.

Question: Do you want the value to "Freeze" at the moment of the trigger?

Notice Dale is also asking if you want to show a "Running" value "while the
event is visible". In other words, Dale is suggesting that the value update
in real-time as the event is held in the display (while the condition is
true and the event 'alive').

Which one, or both (lol)? My guess is that people are going to want both
options,

That's a good question. I think they want it to "freeze" and just
display the value at the time it triggered. But I'm not 100% sure,
not what you ask. I'll find out and get back to you...
