This just came in to contact@ and I thought it might be of interest to folks here. I've asked Juliane for a few details (date, in particular), and will update this thread if I receive them.

I am a volunteer for the Michigan Library Association and we're reaching out to
vendors to play at part at our upcoming state-wide conference in November.

We are featuring a technology petting zoo and would love to showcase a 3-D
printer. Is there someone in the Detroit-area that may be willing to partner
with us on this? We're not asking for a monetary contribution, but just to have
someone at our show for 1.5 hours and showing off that new, cutting-edge
technology.

Any assistance you can provide is appreciated!

A neighbor, who has been a Grosse Pointe Public Library employee for 15 years, mentioned this to me a few weeks ago.  The conference is November 7, 8:00am through November 9, 3:00pm, at the Dearborn Hyatt Regency.  There is an "Exhibit Hall" which will be open throughout the conference, but it sounds like your contact is talking about something else.

Thanks for the link Jerry, I'm reading the conference program now! I
just got some specifics from Juliane:
---
Michigan Library Association is looking for someone from the Detroit
community to provide a show-and-tell style conversation with our
association’s members for approximately 60 minutes on the topic of 3-D
printers. We would be able to provide table-top space (think skirted
table) and an easel if someone felt so moved to promote their work
with a sign/logo etc. (we’re happy to promote someone’s home-grown
business/hobby if they would like, in return for their time).

The location is the Dearborn Hyatt, the date is November 8, 2012 and
timeframe is from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm.

You can contact Juliane Morian, jmo...@cmpl.org if you are interested
in helping!
