I just committed the following:

1) Add an AffirmIdentityTask and bootstrap class to manage a
HGPeerIdentity (persistent in HGDB) that I mentioned in my previous
email.
2) Added support for listening of peers joining and dropping out of
the network through PresencePresenceListener. There's no support for
"dropping off", but we need to figure that out at some point.
3) Changed the task factory interface to use a HyperGraphPeer instead
of a PeerInterface instance. So now all tasks get the HyperGraphPeer
which is more high-level and will probably accumulate functionality
over time that the "mere" PeerInterface won't have.
4) Many files touched because of reformatting with the wonderful
Ctrl-Shift-F Eclipse keystroke :)
5) Moved to 'peerName' configuration parameter from "jxta" to
top-level. This is because the peer name became part of this
HGPeerIdentity bean that has nothing to do with JXTA. Wonder if we
should move the group name as well.
