Subject: Looking for a web programming consultant to support HXL

UN OCHA is currently seeking an individual consultant (sorry, this can't be
given to a company) to assist in developing web-based tools in support of
the* Humanitarian Exchange Language* project (
http://hxl.humanitarianresponse.info), an ambitious project to streamline
crisis response information flows using linked open data.

The consultancy will be for 7 months starting 1-Jun (with some flexibility
in the start date).  Pay will be comensurate with the experience of the
chosen consultant. A Geneva (or nearby) candidate is preferred, but not
required.  There is more information in the attached terms of reference,
but the technical skills we are looking for are:

*Technological Experience and Awareness: **Experience developing websites
using PHP and Javascript with a database backend; experience developing
web-based mapping applications, experience with RDF triple-stores and SPARQL;
web development project design experience; experience in development of
extensions for MS Excel desirable.*

Please feel free to circulate this to your networks. Interested individuals
should send a CV to me via email to name = hendrix and domain = un. org) by
*9am*, Monday 14-May.
