Hello everybody David is my name, I have just recently discovered this instrument thanks to a motorcycle forum and was referred to this group by Matthew Szostak who makes some beautiful instruments.I play a few string things mandolin mostly and have a dodgy band here in melb. Australia but in all my years playing and working as a performance oriented audio engineer I have never before seen this delightful thing called a hurdy gurdy. I can only presume that they are as rare as hens teeth on this continent and therein lies the problem I seek to resolve . Would any of you good people be able to steer me in the right direction. Ideally I would like find one so i could learn to play it ,in australia if possible. Thank you all, Best Regards, David Job.
