Hi there.

Neil Brook is visiting California and has brought with him a wonderful small but powerful and sweet sounding new hurdy gurdy called the Wren.
You can check out a short video on youtube at

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdPY8_B8_3I&feature=channel_page

I have played it in both D/G and Octave tuned G/C and they sound and play excellently. And Neil says that it also sounds great in unison G tuning too.  It has the usual Neil Brook refinements like string lifters, adjustable bridges etc. that makes playing, tuning and adjusting so much easier. One thing I really like about Neils instruments is that then tend to play well right out of the box with easy and stable setup.

I have 2 special instruments that Neil made for me and I am verry happy with them.

These compact instruments are great for travel. Even inside the solid case they can fit in your luggage or as an easy carry on.

It is quite reasonably priced, as are all of Neils instruments and is available right now.
You can contact Neil at

Have fun.

A compact traveling gurdy that does the job and hopefully gets on an airplane without hassell.
Now that is what I call an invention / development that the gurdy world needs.

Xaime Rebollo of Pontevedra, Galicia (Spain) makes a superb compact HG as well, I think even more compact than Neil's.
