There are two books generally referred to as the pink and blue books. Another source is a set of tunes put together by Mitch, he is on the list.

Where are you located? What types of dances do you intend to teach?

HI Scott, I am in La Grande, Oregon... I already teach international /balkan to our small group here but only once a month... I remember doing some bourees in the past but have forgotten all of them and hope to put some together with the help of people and youtube....(and I have emailed Yves Moreau of Canada who has provided me with a good site to refer to)
We also have a small local country dance band that our community has put together... and we play occasionally for contra dances that we have here.... i am hoping to be able to work in the hurdy at some point, and perhaps some of the songs for dances I do in international... so far all they have done music for is contra dances.... its more familar and popular... but I could squeak some french dances in the contra dancing, dont you think?

unfortunately, the pink and blue ( aka the massif central tune books no. 1 and no. 2) have been out of print for years.
Dave Mallinson has reissued the non-copy righted material in a book called 'Bal Folk'  www.mally.com - search tunebooks by genre then french.
Blowzabella have reissued encyclopedia blowzabellica themselves and have a second book of tunes also.  www.blowzabella.com
The interwebs are also a great source of tunes. Try the Cambridge french dance site. http://www.cambridgefolk.org.uk/cam-french/  under music is a PDF with a ton of tunes. I would download that file, it hasnt been updated in a couple of years. who knows when it might dissappear.

I maintain the Cam-French tune book - glad you like it, I have no
intention of letting it disappear! I've just got back from the Halsway
Manor hurdy-gurdy and bagpipes weekend and I have another bunch of
tunes to add. I should get to it this week.

Cheers,
Dave

THANKS YOU ALL FOR RESPONDING TO MY EMAIL!!  I have gotten alot of good sites and book suggestions which will help me alot.  I managed to find the pink book at amazon... its is a paperback version... but nevertheless... Massif Central Tune book No. 1 is now in my house.  plus I found the revised version  that Dave Mallison did which combined the two books (copyright permitting) and now it is in my collection also...
I am still open to any more suggestions...again thank you everyone for all the help!
 Sincerely Beth Gilmore

I bought my copies of the pink and blue books directly from Mel Stevens
(he still had some copies left) and they were, indeed, paperbacks (well,
more basic than that). I presume that is their original form as I got
them from him rather than illicit copies. I telephoned him from his
contact details on his website
He sold the rights to Dragonfly Music which was, in turn, bought by Dave
Mallinson of www.mally.com. I hadn't realised he had them reprinted
(edited and corrected and with the removal of some stuff which was still
in copyright) in one volume called Bal Folk until I read your mail.
I take it you know that the tunes from the Massif books are available to
listen to here on Neil's site
http://www.hurdy-gurdy.org.uk/ played on the piano.
I found that a great help (and I was actually half way through making
them available as midis so this saved me many hours of work).
