Our next meeting is set for Nov 1st.  Anyone have a topic they'd like to share?  Could be your own presentation, a presentation we can view and discuss, or some topic for discussion.

Thanks!

I'll be on vacation that week.  Have fun.

Joe, it seems like 3/4 of the time you tweet you are on vacation.  I want your life, where you have swapped vacation time with work time.  ;-)

If we can push the meeting to November 3, I can definitely make it then.

Does anyone even have anything for us to do for next week's meetup?

Have we run out of things to talk about?

I'm new to functional programming, I would like to discuss the parts of lambda calculus I don't quite understand. I could probably spam some math forums, but I'll spam a local meetup instead, if that's acceptable.

What projects are others working on?

Who uses their favorite language for work?

Would anyone care to form a team for Google's aichallenge.org?

Who's taking Stanford's open courses on AI and machine learning? I'm going through both in my spare time, and wouldn't mind discussing any of these topics.

Who is interested in creating a Southeastern functional conference?

Anyone interested in teaching public classes in your functional lang of choice?

What interesting projects have you used a funct. lang?

Are you slowly deciding against functional languages like this guy?

This is stuff that has probably been hashed out before, that could probably stand to be put on a website, but I would like to discuss some of these questions at one of the meetings.

I don't think so but I have run out of time for a little while. I've
changed my work schedule and it's harder to meet at lunch than it used
to be. Not impossible, but harder. I hope to get acclimated to the new
schedule soon but as for this week, I won't be able to make the
meeting. I am going to Clojure Conj next week and may have some things
to talk about after returning. Also, at some point I could talk about
Pakyow. It's a Ruby web framework that I am working on with Bryan
Powell. We recently open sourced it and are working toward a 0.7
release within a couple of weeks. While not strictly fully functional
in style, we do make use of some of the functional elements of Ruby
and are trying to give a functional feel to how views are modified.
After the release is out I'd be able to give an overview of what we're
doing.

That said, I still plan on being there tomorrow, to discuss code (functional or otherwise) with whomever shows up.

I unfortunately won't be able to make it tomorrow, as stated, maybe next time though. Really looking forward to meeting with everyone.
