Is waterboarding an option?
It is your opinion that I was nym-shifting. The admin knew that I lost
my password to my previous account (b/c I changed it to be consistent
with a group passwords I was going to use, creating new ones for
different types, and then not using it right away and forgot. No I do
not wrote down my passwords.)
It is interesting that you're hell bent on making it look like it's
the whole group against me while it's you against me for PERSONAL
reason. Let's be honest, It's not about my view on things that bothers
you. It's about youer ego getting hurt when you tested me by askign me
whether I got the email you sent implying that you sent me a private
email, to see whether I would rush and checked and communicate with
you instead of replying that I do not check emails in that account.
(Not that you sent any but you're testing me like a low life would
do.) I have a rule/policy I follow not to communicate privately with
people I meet in forums (except if it relates to education (academic
as well as job related) and hence do not check emails on a regular
basis.
The mature thing for you to do it to get over your hurt ego which got
worsen as you vindictively attacked me and got what you desrved. The
other choice is to eat your shit. Good grief, you are a parent. Grow
the fxxk up!

Exactly three years ago this forum had a similar discussion on what to
do about Amanda.

I fully second these remarks. And likewise, I don't remember "Shh"
(a/k/a Amanda) ever saying a single word about Objectivism (or, for
that matter, philosophy generally).

that it does. It is misleading to the rest of us who want to killfile

annoying history of posting on topics that are either totally
irrelevant to this newsgroup and/or totally offensive even to those of
us who are not Jewish.

Who's Ken?
It's bad enough that Jerry got barred off here,
thus causing me to not send Tim a check. Why
would you want more of that?

Ken Gardener. Who else?

Jerry Story was banned for typing the words "kill Bush" to HPO. These
words in that post were approved through Tim's server, which implies
that Tim approved those words - which is false, so Jerry earned a ban.

It may not have been "kill Bush" but he did write "hang Bush" on a
couple of occasions.
If he hangs without dying he will suffer for a very long time. This
would be unconstitutional, since it would be quite unusual and very
cruel.

The long and short of it is that, in my experience, nobody gets banned
from HPO unless two conditions are met: 1. there is a rule broken -
even if that rule isn't in the guidelines but involves, in this case,
breaking the laws of the land, and 2. there is a consensus among the
forum regulars that the poster needs to be banned.
This means that Amanda's constant nym-shifting to avoid killfiles,
while against HPO rules, won't take effect unless enough of the
regulars complain about it.
However, as you can see, regulars here complained about Amanda exactly
three years ago, and yet nothing happened.

No. But perhaps we can manipulate her into threatening the president.

Where do you get this stuff? What consensus was there
to have Jerry banned, at least for what he was banned for?

Well, at least I can concede that you're consistent with
the historical basis of hpo. It was created to gratify a
bunch of whiners and apparently it still serves as home
to some.

Sure it did---you got three years older. Of course, you
probably won't grow up unless you first choose to wake up.

No he was banned because he alluded to Potatohead as someone who would
take away his guns and that anyone threatening to take away his guns
should be shot.
Tim Skirvin called this "threatening the President", notwithstanding
the fact that Jerry and some others said in various ways "kill
Bush".

And how did Skirv find out about this Jerry post? He's not a regular
reader of this forum.

Yes.
Boy, you're in a mood! Complaining about HPO rules.
EPA just declared CO2 as a toxic gas.
Now that's something to bitch about.

I interpreted Jerry's words back in February as a threat against
the president. There was some ambiguity, but the posts were enough to
worry me; I've seen the Secret Service respond to emailed threats in the
past, and it wasn't pretty or discriminate. So I'm a bit touchy on this
issue. Still, I figured a warning would suffice; unfortunately, he did
it again shortly thereafter.
I really hope that case doesn't require its own rule in the Group
Guidelines. The short version of it, though, is "please don't put your
friendly moderator at risk".
All of that said, I want to reiterate that I can see the ambiguity
here. I made a judgement call here, and while my call may be final, it's
not necessary immutable. Talk with me if you want to change my mind.
And, as for Manda Ruby - I haven't looked too closely, but while I
certainly see why y'all would like her to play a bit nicely, I don't see
any reason at this point to get involved.

I'd like to know. AFAIK only the imbecile Richard Lawrence complained
publically. And the original, more specific, threat Jerry made was
treated by Ken Gardner and others pretty much as it needed to be:
"Jerry, you idiot, the FBI will come knocking on your door . . "

Perhaps, Jerry needed to be warned the first time, in that clear
threats against a President can conceivably bring everyone in hpo
under government scrutiny, but the final reason for his banning was
utterly asinine as there was no specific threat whatsoever.
Great news, Manda Ruby! After trolling and nym-shifting on HPO for 5
years, Tim Skirvin says that at this time you're free to continue
fucking up this forum with your anti-semitic, racist, pro-terrorist
anti-American nonsense!!
YAYYYYYYY!!!!!!!

Not when this is a moderated forum where posts such as those are
APPROVED piecemeal through Tim's server. In other words, if
threatening the president gets the FBI's attention, then Skirvin might
also get their attention because he runs the server that approves
those posts.

I think you've seen Tim's post by now in which he says he did warn
Jerry only to have it continue.
Since you seem to be very cluless (that you will not succeed in
intimidating me just as you didn't succeed in trying to play with my
mind), let me clearify that I am writing this post because I am very
amused to know that you are this low to have headed this direction of
digging up the accusation that nationalist Cooper initiated it to
imply that my intention was to offend the Jewish people in this group.
Kolker, typical of intelligent Jewish people, OTOH knew that I just
wanted the damn clearification formt he experts (like Kolker) BECAUSE
my subconscious mind couldn't accept it as a component of a major
world religion like Judaism. Of coures, I was too lazy to do research
on my own and instead relied on the likes of Bob Kolker, giving
opportunity to the nationalist Cooper to attack me, and now giving
you, the low life, the opportunity to do the same. But no regrets as
this exposes you just as it did Cooper. What a small midn you people
are.
I consider it good practise becaue there are small-minded people like
Copper and you everywhere that I have to watch out for, namely, at
work. For each one of you, there are 3 times as many who likes me (at
work for my more than competent work) but still, keeping that in mind
would help me be prepared to not get surprised this time if I get this
new job in Environmental Health. Interview pending.

Little boy pouting because his mean attempt didn't succeed.
For the record, I missed that previous account. That's my favorite of
all accounts used in non-official environment. I also miss the
account I used in Soc.Culture.Burma which password I changed along
with that AmandaF37 account. Those two were the only two accounts I
carefully chose to mean something (to me) unlike manda.ruby with ruby
referring to the rubies of Burma. Quite boring to think about it.
I give you once more chance to grow up and earn a reputation of not a
small-minded man. Damn, I am late to get ready for work b/c I did
spell check a little bit.

You don't know what I was attempting. I did not expect Skirvin to ban
you "at this time* when most of your rule-breaking occurred three
years ago. So why don't you just go troll your way back to Myanmar and
shut the fuck up.

All this will accomplish is getting her invited to a state dinner. What
good would that do? However, you had good intentions (Kantian pun fully
intended).
Outright banning was not the right thing to do IMO. Just tell him
"That is not acceptable. Don't do it again or you will be banned. In
any case I am one of the fuss-budgets who blew the whistle. I would do
it again.
