I just got down enblend 4.1 and multiblend 0.4 and did a fresh compile.  I've used them in the past before with no issues, but this time something odd is happening with the output.  I have some small image files that you can download to see the problem:

If you look at this file you can see the issues:

enblend 4.0 works fine, but 4.1 the output looks washed out.  multiblend gives me some black dark areas in the stitch.  The 'script' txt file contains  the command I used to create the blended images.  They were all compiled without any config switches set.

Has anyone else had these problems before?

Thanks,
Kevin

Just determined that it's some issue with inputting TIFF images.   When I convert the input images (1.tif 2.tif 3.tif ... etc) into PNG using imagemagick's convert and then run enblend 4.1 on them, it comes out fine.  The input TIFF images are from nona, so I tried opening in gimp and resaving, but still the same issue - the output is washed out.  Convert to PNG and use the PNG files as input but output a TIFF file, works fine too.

Looks like it's something with the reading in and decoding the image that's causing the problems, because outputting a TIFF image isn't a problem.  It's only when TIFF is being inputted.

Ok, I've narrowed down the problem even more.  It's the ICC that's stored in the TIFF file from nona.  If I used imagemagick's convert with the -strip command to remove the profile, then the TIFF images will blend together fine and not appear to be washed out.

Use the -c option with ICC profiles.
enblend --help gives (-c       use CIECAM02 to blend colors)

Hi kevin,

Does that -strip also fix the problem with multiblend? One other person has reported a similar dark-band problem, which appeared to be something to do with newer versions of gcc - I suspect I've made some bad assumption somewhere in my code, which is breaking under the newer compiler, but I haven't been able to update to the latest gcc on any of the Linux machines I have access to at the moment.

Thanks Harry, tried that but didn't make a difference.  So I next tried --no-ciecam and that works.  Now the images come out looking correct and not washed out.

Hi David,

Sorry, didn't make a change with the dark-band issue.
