I'm playing with a gigapixel pano... perhaps my next contribution for data testing. :)

(700+ 6mpxl pix (~1.5mb each) taken at the top of Cottonwood Pass, CO)

1) Exposure Optimization

Repeatably, Hugin loads and resizes photos for several minutes, then crashes. No error message. (Sorry, I don't have a local build going... need to do that!)

2) Preview

Repeatably,
* After working hard, the preview DOES display
* Simply enabling/disabling several photos and pressing 'Update' will soon cause the following crash:

src\hugin1\hugin\PreviewPannel.cpp/487

updatePreview(): exception during stitching: bad allocation

Two other large-pano notes:

*  photo-loading seems quite slow. On a VERY fast computer, it takes ~7-8 minutes to load 700+ photos.

* Optimization is both unbearably slow AND only updates the window after each optimization pass. Thus, Hugin is completely unresponsive for 30+ minutes at a time.

Hope this is helpful feedback! We're actually making good progress overall.

Blessings,
Pete
