It is still nice to have for little kids to flip through, or build things
with, but it doesn't have to be the top of the line version. We had two
sets as a kid. There was one that was a nature encyclopedia, that was  in
my own room and well played with, the other was a full formal, high end one
on  mom's shelf that mostly collected dust.
