Bit of an update. I exchanged a few emails with a NB customer support
person. I'll just post the relevant bits:
=AB=ABAfter looking over your inquiry I can tell you that in our trail
styles like the 110's, we usually recommend that you get a half-size
up
since they are made to be a bit more snug around the forefoot for
support
As for the widths, the actual measurements are a bit subjective due to
sizes but generally, the D width is about 4" and the 2E's are bout
1/4"
wider=BB=BB
=AB=ABThe MT110's are manufactured in a minimal, lightweight style but
only in D and 2E widths while there is a different version of the same
MT110's that are produced in D, 2E, and 4E widths and they are more
like traditional trail runners with a more cushioned sole (same exact
style, different function and technology) so if you needed the 4E
width (about 4.5" wide), then you would have to get the cushioned
version rather than the minimal version.
So even though what the Running Warehouse is true on most of our
models, it doesn't really apply here since the minimal styles are not
offered in a 4E.
The D and 2E are made on the same platform, just more material in the
2E.
The 4E has a wider platform and more material than the D and 2E.
This is true for most styles of shoes that New Balance offers=BB=BB
About the MT110 and Minimus:
=AB=ABThe actual measurements, while estimates, show that the D width is
right at the 4" mark and it tends to go up 1/4" per width so a 2E is
roughly 4.25" in the widest part of the forefoot. In other styles like
trail, road, walking, training, the widths are all the same in terms
of measurements.=BB=BB
About the MT110 2E:
=AB=ABEven though the platform will be on a standard (~ 4" width) style,
the upper will give you the additional 1/4" more room. If you need a
wider style (4E- 4.5" wide) then you may need to get the traditional
