Hard to say much from a single photo, but looks like a lot of space
for the big toe in this shoe: http://www.runblogger.com/2012/05/brooks-going-zero-drop-with-pure-dr...

I like (based on the photo) that it maintains full width nearly all the way
to the front of the shoe (rather than the lateral edge angling in too soon,
like it does on the NB Zero Minimus line for me (except the 4EE Trail)).
@Brooks - release 'em now!

the so called market, can be easily manipulated.....where do you think these marshmellow shoes came from.....the public did not clamor for them in the beginning.....at the time, the public knew virtually nothing about running, so the shoe companies came up with a gimick, with all the attendant bs from the ad agencies, that was , of course, lies.....the hue and cry from those of us that knew better at the time fell on the deaf ears of our friends and the public, who was tricked into a fad that was not in their best interests..we were called old fashioned , and told there was a new, better, healthier way to run.......the shoe companies are , and were, the problem, and it is difficult for them to be the fix............el jefe

this stuff from the brooks guy is mostly nonesense.....as long as it's a corporation, he is beholden to his stockholders to do what is in the best interest of them......he has absolutely no responsiblilty to anyone but them.....manipulate the market as best you can to make money for the stockholders, irregardless of the harm , or the lies that are told to the public....the public doesn't count, except that the are the piggybank for the stockholders....what is in the best interest of the corporation and what is the best interests of the public are not conducive to each other......this shoe thing is a perfect example....the shoe companies knew, or should have known, that what they were marketing to the public was gonna cause a host of health issues, not too far down the road.....but they didn't care, becuase the dont give a rats ass about the public....it is corporate law, of sorts.....to hell with everyone but the stockholders, and say anything that is not against the law to say, as long as it behooves the corporation.....thas what happened.....and i still don't forgive the shoe companies, specially nike, and the ilk of that type..why in gods name would anyone, after what everyone should know by now, trust , or believe, one single word that comes out of the mouth of a shoe executive......el jefe

i guess my main gripe is that the shoe bs was treated as if it was a fad and fashion issue instead of a health and wellness issue....

Hopefully it's not a marshmellow like the Hattori.  The real challenge
seems to be firmness and low-weight in one material.  Altra did it
pretty well, but my instinct forefoot has compressed a good amount
after 260 miles or so.  Messes with my form if I'm not conscious of
it.

Good idea regarding the insole but I can't really see myself in a pair
of these, just not my style. And I think I'd end up catching my big
toe all the time.   Besides I'm very happy with my rotation of TG and
MT110 for the moment, I know those new inov-8's will be tempting but
I'll have to wait until one of the afore mentioned gives up.

I absolutely love my Pure Grit and am on my second pair.  All my trail
shoes are part-time road shoes as well.  Loving the Pure line, and not
having a road shoe yet, these could be a great step for
the occasional times I am on the road.  The new sole designs of 2nd
generation Pure's looks nice.  Big fan of the Pure line so far!
