I have always been intrigued by these, but couldn't find where to get them (their store currently doesn't list USA as a possible shipping destination). Where were you able to get them?

I read a review (from Europe I think) of one of the Feelmax models, and the reviewer liked it but found that the sole itself got wet (not just the sides and some leakage, but the sole). How's it work for damp grass and wet sidewalks?

I've been running a bit in their Lappa model, which is excellent, but
the problem is, just as stated here, that even just a damp surface
gets your feet wet in no time. I also purchased the Panka model which
I thought I'd use for everyday wear, but I can only wear them in 100
percent dry conditions, which isn't really what we have here in
Denmark :(
So, yes, it's a great barefoot shoe if you never have to move on any
sort of even slightly moist surface.
VFF remains my running shoe of choice and I'm still on the lookout for
a minimalist shoe that I can wear at work without people looking at my
feet all day long.
I am not at all familiar with the older models. As a matter of fact, the
shoe I have does not show up on the FeelMax website.
I happen to be in Seattle this week. I just got back from running in wet
grass. My feet did not get wet. However, I will do some more training this
week and let you know.
On the other hand, I wore the shoes in my home territory in Southern
California, including some serious, rocky mountain hiking and running and
loved them.
I like the way my feet feel in them. I like the lightweight (4.5 ounces!)
and ease of putting on and taking off.

Wow! Great! I have been looking at Feelmax shoes for a while, now I
know they're great for running! :o)
There is a problem if the soles get wet though... There is not many
dry days in Sweden no matter of the season... :o/
I'm surprised Feelmax didn't think of that since they're finnish! Thay
have about the same weather conditions.
Maybe you're only supposed to wear them indoors... :o)
I'll definetly get a pair if they have some with waterproof soles.
Ted, does the new version of the shoes have a name yet? :o)
I just found out from Jarno, president of the family owned business
that makes FeelMax shoes, that my pair has the new outsole which is
much better with wet conditions, and based on my experience so far,
that seems true. I am not experiencing a moisture-getting-into-shoe
problem even while running in the wetness of Seattle's winter.
I am leaning strongly to giving this shoe the BEST barefoot-feel award
and VERY GOOD durability.
I will be reporting more soon on my blog. I am hoping to help
fascilitate the promotion of this brand. I feel it deserves a chance
in the marketplace. This shoe is going to benefit A LOT of folks who
are dying to be barefoot but need some protection and some well-made
style and possibly something to meet workplace requirements.
I say: Let this type of company flurish!
BFT
PS. I hope to test the original version in the hot dry climate of Los
Angeles and Mexico.

Wow. I did not know they made shows. I bought some of their Arctic and
Glacier toe socks last winter to wear with an over sized pair of VFF Surges.
Very comfy and warm socks.
Thanks for sending cc to me, I really appreciate your honest comments.... That model which you have is NIESA, it will be available in Europe at beginning of June, but I don't know situation in USA when Feelmaxes available in there.
So, it seems like we are going to have to wait for sometime before they will be available in the USA...which is very sad in my opinion.
I am going to try and work with Jarno and find a way to at least offer this shoes online to US customers. Furthermore, I plan on using my pair of NIESAS to do the upcoming Copper Canyon Ultra Marathon.

Could you ask Jarno to elaborate on the sole differences between older
models and this new prototype? I completely agree that this shoe could
be the kicker, but the wet-feet-issue needs to be resolved first, and
it would be nice to know it that's a goal for Feelmax.
As for getting your hands on a pair in the US, I'll be happy to ship
some over as private mail - not least because I could use someone in
the US that would be willing to ship me VFF now and then since
European distributors overprice the product immensely and don't carry
all variants and sizes.
Best,
Claus

new prototype outsole in Ted's use is waterproof, much more stronger
against abrasion with better grip to the surface.... that water proof
issue has been big challenge for us. but now it is finished with
really good results. we will send final samples to Ted in two weeks
which durability will be again much more than before.
Greetings from Finland,
Jarno

With this issue resolved I'll make an order. Is it possible to order
online (from a website) directly from you for us living in North
America (actuallyy Canada for me)?
