Dagestan: Resident of Makhachkala Abducted
On April 3, 2012, Tazhedin Radzhabov, a resident of Makhachkala,
Dagestan, addressed to the Human Rights Center «Memorial» with a
written statement. He informed that his nephew, Alakhverdi
Ramazanovich Radzhabov, 28 years-old, was abducted.
On March 25 between 5pm and 5.50pm, in Makhachkala, Alakhverd drove
up to Shamil av., 57 (Kalinin av.) where an acquaintance was waiting
for him. He got out the car to meet the girl and she sat down
inside. After that more than ten unknown people wearing masks and
camouflage went for Radzhabov and pinioned his arms before in full
view of passersby. The girl was taken out of the car threatening
her with weapon. They put Radzhabov in the car and took him away in
an unknown direction. Eyewitnesses mentionned that the car in which
he was taken away was escorted by three other cars, among them a
"Gazelle" with some lattices inside the cabin.
On the same day, relatives applied to the Ministry of Internal
Affairs of Russian Federation in Dagestan, to FSB in Dagestan and to
the Public Prosecutor's Office, but nobody gave information about
the Alakhverdi's whereabouts. According to Tazhedin, Alakhverdi
worked as an accountant in a construction company and never had
problems with law.
His relatives consider that law enforcement agents could have
abducted Radzhabov. They fear for his life and health.
At present time, Radzhabov's whereabouts are still unknown, and the
criminal case was initiated.
