I had put away my EeePC 1201n after successfully getting it up on 10.6.3.

Everything was working at that point.

Upgrades included:

2 x 2 GB = 4 GB RAM (required a different DSDT)

Broadcom 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi card (most probably purchased off of eBay) ... at least this one was MacOS X- AND Windows-compatible ... works flawlessly with the Airport driver, and is seen as a third-party wireless card

500 GB Seagate Momentus 7200 rpm drive (ST9500420AS) with 16 MB cache

Dual booted with Snow Leopard and Win 7 (four partitions: MacOS Snow, Win 7, MacOS Snow Backup, SHARED)

So far, so good.

But ...

I had misplaced my ASUS-branded 19 volt 2.1 amp (40 watt) charger/battery eliminator.

I knew WHERE it might be, but I could not FIND it.

A case of TOO MANY chargers/battery eliminators for all the systems which I run.

So ...

I went searching for a replacement 1201n charger/battery eliminator.

Finally, I bought this ...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380381687710

... and so far it is working perfectly.

Only $10.98, too, with "free" shipping from a U.S. location via USPS First Class mail.

I even received it in three days, rather than the promised four days (an identical one, or a similar one, from Hong Kong would have taken two or more WEEKS as those vendors generally require that PayPal "money" is cleared before shipment).

Alas, OEM charger/battery eliminators with an ASUS brand ARE available, but these require ... at extra cost ... a non-standard line cord, so the cost would have been higher.

Same here.

With specific reference to the charger/battery eliminator, it works as
expected and required, with no issues whatsoever.

I grabbed the dsdt using Ubuntu 10 this morning. It is a LOT different
than the one which is specifically hacked for MacOS X (and Windows 7).

I'm not about to second-guess the designer of that 4 GB DSDT.

The differences are too great.

Besides which, the DSDT, as grabbed, will not even compile.

The usual stuff with MUTE, but a lot of new stuff is giving compiler
errors, too.
