For those who were not aware, Apple also released this update yesterday. I'm presently trying it on my DC7800 Lion partition. Anyone else have luck with this one?

Went fine on the DC7800. I can't say about sound as I now use a USB dongle for that and it works just fine. Next I plan to attempt it on this system.

Update went fine. This system is now at 10.7.5. My plan is to attempt a ML install on this system sometime today. It will require me to remove 2 video cards to see if that is the problem with my previous install attempts. I also have a fan which is making non-normal noises which needs to be addressed.

While those extra cards are out, I will use one in the GA-945GCMX-S2 for an ML install attempt there. That should go okay and if it does, I will be in need of a video card to replace the aging 7200 GS which is presently in that system. I've been watching NewEgg for a inexpensive card, the best I've found so far is a GeForce 210 for $30.

The last system I plan to attempt an ML install on is my 1201N. I do not plan on spending a lot of time on this so if I can't get it going right away, I will just leave it running Lion. That OS performs well on the little netbook and I really have no reason to update beyond that.

I can certainly relate to the notion of update fatigue, but a couple things do motivate me to get up to ML on the 1201N at some point. I hear, mainly here, that ML is a tad snappier, and also have read that the power management and battery life are a bit better as well.

In the end, if i do not move up, i have no complaints about my stable Lion System. No new killer features that are a must have that i can think of off the top of my head.

While I am in the process of cleaning the MSI system (very, very dirty), I am on the DS3L and have updated the Lion partition to 10.7.5. Update went perfectly, just needed to fix sound.

I will post pictures of the filth in my MSI system later on. As my main system, it does get the most use and stays on 24/7 most of the time. The fans on the video cards all look good, no dust, so perhaps the noise is from either the system fan or the small hard drive dock fans. Hopefully I can find out which and fix that before I resume use.

It looks like the MSI system will be staying on Lion, at least for the time being. So far I have tried a 9400GT and an 8400GS but neither one will work. On a verbose boot, it goes all the way through to the end where the text screen closes and the gfx screen should appear, but the monitor power button turns yellow, indicating no signal. I left it sit for quite awhile and nothing happened. At first the flash drive continued to indicate it was being read, but then it too stopped.

I have tried a 7200GS and it allows me to install ML, but I know from experience that it will not boot up as the OS is 64 bit and this card only operates in 32 bit mode. So I may have to update my video cards to get it working with 3 gfx cards. As this is my main system, I really hate to put it all back together again as it is a major pain to pull it apart to work on it.

So that is where I'm at, will have to figure out what is the best course of action.

I got a KP in Voodoo upon rebooting after the installation.

However, I have come to expect, at least on Hacks, that the FIRST boot
after an update installation WILL BE a KP.

So, I simply repeat the same process, and so far it HAS ALWAYS gone
correctly.

So, my hp/Compaq DC7800 is now at 10.7.5, with the Ver. F DSDT in /Extra,
the IOATAFamily in /Extra/Extensions, and Voodoo in
/System/Library/Extensions.
