Hello,
how can I import my pictures that are already on amazon s3 into the
gallery?

Hi,

I think there-is no such option. Perhaps best idea would be just copy
all to albums folder and make sure that path's match. O just write
some script which would do that.

What is the point to copy all the pictures back to the albums folder,
if the gallery itself has support for amazon s3?

I see, I thought you want to transfer all images to local filesystem.
If images are on Amazon already perhaps best solution would be just
write script which imports them to gallery. Here is script which
imports from local directory. Perhaps solution would be something
similar to this:
http://code.google.com/p/hppg/source/browse/trunk/bin/php/import_directory.php
