115K Populaire on Saturday 11/14/09

Today's 115K populaire was my first ride with HR and it was by far the
most difficult ride I have ever been on, but it was a blast. My legs
continue to cramp as I type. I made a number of errors on this ride
which included not drinking enough and eating too much (4 kolaches
from the bakery in La Grange). Peddling up Country Club Road almost
brought those kolaches back.

The route was well designed and the scenery was great. Even though I
had a map with me, the cue sheet was dead on and I never had any
question about which way to turn.

I'm not sure that I'm ready for a 200K yet, but I am sure I won't eat
so many kolaches on my next ride.

It was nice to ride with my fellow Houston randonneurs. I had been off my solo for over one year and  I have to agree that the Hills were challenging specially being behind the trail ride
on the country road that put us into Weimer. That was quite fun trying to stay on our far right to avoid the big horses.

It was great seeing all of y'all. Nice to see some new faces and some returning. Any ride with hills and kolaches can't be all bad! I am sad that my previous record of 3 kolaches was broken, but it had to happen sometime.
