Occasionally, Republicans provided a glimpse into their plan, indicating
that they would loot Iraq's oil fields.
They expected to hand the seized oil fields over to Halliburton, which had
run the fields prior to the Hussein administration taking them over.
This week, the disputed oil fields went up for auction - and none of it went
to the US.
Instead, the fields will be run by countries that are, for the most part,
hostile toward the US.
According to the Iraqis, security was the primary business factor that shut
the US out of the auctions.
They believe, for good reason, that if Republican corporations own and
operate those fields, they will become hubs of criminal activity.
They are justified in this belief because that's what ALWAYS happens when
Republicans do in Iraq.

In a related story, development of the Bush Library has been halted...
again.
The current plan allows for only a few parking spaces for employees only -
and with no parking for visitors.
Instead of parking at the library, visitors would have to park along the
busy highway, or in front of nearby residential homes.
(Bush's own home would be exempt from this, as he lives in a "gated"
community).
In addition to causing traffic problems, this situation is expected to be a
major security problem.
