Hi Star-struck Hei:

We have ALL of the Jupiter pix, in living color, available from the
WWW Hubble telescope. Drop by the orifice and take a peek.

Claire: At last your responded to my post/message! Actually No. I won't
do just about anything to get people to come to my orifice. Au contraire,
mon cher, we are not YET really set up to receive visitors, having moved
to new quarters not long ago. It's just that SOME people who read H-P
have to live with only looking at the "eun-ex" $ sign or % sign prompts
and have no idea of what's out here on the I-net in the way of graphics.
We now have some Sun Sparc terminals online with xwindows, along with the
usual dos windoze stations for accessing the I-net. The pix that Hei
referred to is one of many jpegs/gifs/whatever that NASA and others have
put online. Talk about In-net bandwidth connect problems.....!

Now, let me ask YOU, Claire, for the THIRD time, where was the Electric
Festival held last year, and why do you choose to not participate this year?

YOU and any other H-P contributors are welcome to come by our orifice and
discuss it with me, in person,if you'd prefer to not make this highly
sensitive information public in (h-p)! 8-) You also have the option of
calling me at 713-917-5000 to express yourself, however you choose! :-) As
self appointed/annointed co-leader(?) of the H-P happy hour group, surely
you can show some demonstrative leadership in responding to questions from
those of us who lack such leadership skills as you yourself possess. ;-)

I look forward to meeting you and the H-P group soon. I am too long
overdue for some levity in my life, not to mention some much needed
cybertravel to places like.....Sherlock's (?)

Best regards,

A.C.

Ouch! I'm sure noone meant to slight you by not showing...I don't

What about lurkers? I don't know about visiting a strange orifice...
Should I wear a latex suit? But, then, I'm not a CONtributor type,
I'm more a CONqueso type...

AC:

Just for the record here, yes you invited ALL of the H-P group to your
Internet Open House. You invited us to an open house at a Commercial
Internet Provider's place of business... If we were interested in
finding a new service provider there may have been an incentive to
come to the open house. As it is, most of us (I can't speak for
everyone) are happy with the service(s) we are presently using and
therefore weren't interested in attending.

Also, your Open House was on a night when some of us already had
plans.

I'm not even going to comment on the cutsie word play... This is
really impressive.

*
* Now, let me ask YOU, Claire, for the THIRD time, where was the
* Electric Festival held last year, and why do you choose to not
* participate this year?

(note: A.C. is talking about Lollapalooza or however you spell it)

There was no "Electric Festival" last year as far as I know. I
wandered around the entire area. What I did see was a bunch of kids
intoxicated, dehydrated and covered in mud. Everything was chaotic
and as a volunteer at the event I didn't care for the way my group was
treated. We had to stay there until 2:30am because the organizers of
the event were very disorganized. The cost of _everything_ was way
out of line and it cost $2.00 for an 8 oz bottle of cold water and
there wasn't _free_ water available anywhere! The only water available
to the public was a hose that they brought out and sprayed people with
about 4 hours after everything started. It wasn't something I care to
attend again!

* YOU and any other H-P contributors are welcome to come by our
* orifice and discuss it with me, in person, if you'd prefer to not
* make this highly sensitive information public in (h-p)! 8-)

Why don't you take us up on our very constant invitation to attend an
h.p happy hour/get-together/dinner or whatever it is we are doing.

* You also have the option of calling me at 713-917-5000 to express
* yourself, however you choose! :-)

I chose to answer you here, in public.

* As self appointed/annointed co-* leader(?) of the H-P happy hour
* group,

This is where you are wrong and completely out of line. Self
appointed I don't think so... Anyone is welcome to lead the group
and plan all these very time consuming activities! Feel free to
take over. I'm sure Heidi won't mind either.

As for self anointed... I have been anointed... and that was confirmed
this weekend (thank you GS).

* surely you can show some demonstrative leadership in responding to
* questions from those of us who lack such leadership skills as you
* yourself possess. ;-)
*

Some people are natural leaders, others have to work at it...
Some of us are more fortunate than others. I feel that I have
answered your questions and your comments.

* I look forward to meeting you and the H-P group soon. I am too long
* overdue for some levity in my life, not to mention some much needed
* cybertravel to places like..... Sherlock's (?)

Come on out. Better yet, _you_ plan the next one. Some suggestions
to consider... Plan it on a weekend (Friday evening = weekend also)
plan it at least 2 or 3 days in advance. Some people (contrary to
popular belief) do have other plans and things to do, most of all make
it a PUBLIC place.

I'm sure you are bright enough to figure out the rest of the details.

*
* Best regards,
*
* A.C.
