RECENT SOFTWARE PROJECTS
1. Saturn Corporation, Springhill,TN (Customer)
Applications Engineer (GE-Fanuc)
* Project version upgrade from Cimplicity 3.22 to 4.01:
All core modules of 4.01 like BCE , PRT tested and test plans prepared to
ensure safe operation of the plant after version upgrade. These plans
developed to test many aspects of the product in a fast and repeatable
fashion and easy to interpret results by customer.

going
Identification of the appropriate porting Devices, Points, alarms and
Screens, conversion from VAX platform to NT platform, and developing
scripts.
2. Reliable Diesel Fuel Injection Pvt. Ltd., Sydney, Australia
Project Title : Diesel Fuels Monitor
Duration : 4 months.
Role : Programmer
Programming Environment : Visual Basic 5.0, Labview 5.0, Windows 95
Project Description: Diesel Fuels Monitoring Automation System (virtual
instrument) was developed to monitor the fuel mixtures of a Diesel Engines
and the Automation of the complete Plant floor. The Automation was
implemented on Multiple Servers , viewed By Labview (from National
Instruments) and interfaced to 12 sensor inputs (pressure, velocity,
temperatures and vibration). Data was displayed in real time, and
programmable alarm levels set for warning the operators.
3. ICI (Imperial Chemical Industries) - Botany, Alkathene Plant, Australia:
Project Title : Breaker Maintenance Module
Duration : 8 months.
Role : Programmer as part of a team
Programming Environment : Visual Basic4.0-5.0, Ladder Logic, Windows 95
Project Description: Developed a Breaker Maintenance Module as part of
Power Management System. Software was developed in Visual Basic and
interfaced to a Westinghouse IQ Data Plus II using a proprietary RS-232
protocol. The data was stored in an MS Access database for future
processing and trending. The data from remote breaker points was used to
develop a predictive maintenance algorithm based on the number of
operations, contact closures, and estimated life of the specific breaker
selected. The visual interface was used to provide annunciation and a
RS-232 output provided to a process control mainframe system . The Module
uses extensive Object Oriented Technologies and ActiveX Controls for the
Implementation of Remote Access and Client - Server technologies of Visual
Basic for the Front End and the back end Database was implemented in MS
Access.
4. Project Title : Element monitoring
Location : ICI Botany Bay
Duration : 6 Months
Role : Team Member
Programming Environment : Wonderware programming tools (InTouch),
Windows 95, Visual Basic, PLC ladder logic and MODBUS protocols.
Project Description: Was a key member in Application Development of Man
Machine Interface for Status Monitoring and Controlling PCB contaminated
Wells utilizing Wonderware (Intouch ) Automation package. These sites are
equipped with Allan Bradley PLC's whose function is to start twenty motors,
strippers and load/Unload tanks. Designed 20 user-interface screens for the
automation of equipment and added remote alarming for the operators. Wrote
SQL query for reports and logging to extend Wonderware's inadequate
functions.
