Hi,
I had a business lunch today at The Cheesecake Factory in
the Galleria. It was very good as was the service. It was
a bit too loud to converse with folks down at the end of
the table. I had a wonderful Farfalle pasta with chicken,
panchetta, peas, in a cream sauce. We also all shared some
pot stickers (fair), spring rolls (wonderful), and some kind
of Texas egg rolls with avocado cream sauce, which everyone
else liked but I didn't (too much corn in them for me). For
dessert I had a piece of chocolate mousse cake, which was
a little disappointing. It wasn't nearly as chocolatey as I had
expected. Almost everyone else had different cheesecakes
and they were quite happy with them.
I'll be going back but not with such a large group of people.
Just too hard to converse. I'll also be saving up before I go
because it was a little pricey at $32, not counting the tip,
without any alcoholic drinks. Good thing is that even though
I had the lunch portion of my pasta I have plenty left for a good
sized dinner and more than half of my cake for desert. Maybe
since I won't be so full I'll be less critical of the cake.

Next time try the Orange Chicken! It is awesome!

I'm surprised you found the Cheesecake Factory pricey - I've always found it
to be one of the most economical places considering the quality of the food
and the portion size.

My argument is not with their price, it is with their service and the
quality of the food.

I've found the food there to be good except for the Cheesecake, which is
pretty pathetic IMO.

Reading the answers to this post, it's almost like we have a completely new
group of posters here from a year ago. We must have had 25-30 posts
regarding the arrogant, arbitrary service and pricing in this place. I, for
one, vowed never to go back again. The only one I've ever enjoyed both the
food and service in is the one in Beverly Hills. It's almost like a
one-location sole proprietor restaurant. Other than that, IMHO, the one
here in the Galleria has a reputation for extremely bad service and,
frankly, not caring if you never come back, as you will be replaced by more
tourists from Mexico.

I've always liked the food. And it's a good excuse to go to the
Galleria. :)

I've been there twice. It sucks. I've not had a problem with the
service, but the food tastes...well...plastic. It has an undefineable
characteristic that renders it tasteless. If you've ever eaten the
marinated boneless chicken thighs from HEB, you'll know what I mean. The
first time they're great, but if you eat them twice in a 30 day
period....bllleccchhh. The scenery is usually pretty good though. My
wife usually bruises my shins under the table two or three times.

LOL, the men at my table were getting whiplash from trying to look
at all of the pretty women in their expensive clothes.

You can stop laughing. The men there didn't care even a tiny bit about
the expensive clothes the women there were wearing.
