This morning my iPhone reports that "IMAP is not available for your
account" when checking for email, and when I log into my Gmail account
and check the settings what used to be "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" is
now just "Forwarding and POP"!

Has this happened to anyone else?? (and can someone please fix it).

The same thing's happened to me and all of our clients that use IMAP.

What in the blazes is going on?

I have several accounts, and the imap option has disappeared on all of
them - yike! I gotten hooked. And I set up quite afew clients and
friends this way too. I sure hope this is temporary

Mine just started happening about 45 minutes ago. Is all the mail
stored on the IMAP server for all 40 of my users GONE?

Anyone have an idea of what Google is up to?   Getting someone hooked
on their services and then pulling the plug is usually a Microsoft
trick... but no notifications?

The servers went down at about 1PM PST and were back up and running
with about 25 minutes.  Pretty damn good, considering they likely have
thousands of servers to fix...

Our 40 users started seeing their mail clients reconnecting to the
imap server about 3:30pm - 3:40pm CDT
