Dr. Bratzler,
I frequently used the document you created that compared SCIP VTE
prophylaxis guidelines to those from the AAOS to educate noncompliant
physicians. I have recently changed jobs and wondered if you had
updated that document to reflect the recently adjusted AAOS
guidelines. If so, could you please provide? If not, can I get a
copy of the old one?

I have attached the document but it is now out of date since AAOS revised their recommendations. Their new guideline can be found at:
 
I have not done a detailed review but in essence they say that all patients undergoing hip or knee arthroplasty should receive VTE prophylaxis but suggest that there is no evidence supporting one form of prophylaxis over another. The Am College of Chest Physicians is nearing the completion of a update to their guidelines and that will be published next spring.
 
The earliest any changes could be made to the VTE measures is January 2013.
