This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Minnesota Native Plant Society.
To celebrate this milestone a symposium titled "Perspectives in Botany"
co-sponsored by the MN Native Plant Society and The Bell Museum of Natural
History will be held on Sat., March 24 from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at The Bell
Museum on the University of MN campus. Key topics include: "Species
Concepts in Plants (Why Can't Plants Follow the Rules)" by Dr. Anita
Cholewa (U of MN), "Minnesota's Plant Hunters Past and Present" by Tim
Whitfeld (U of MN), and "Plant Adaptations on the Prairie" by Rhett Johnson
(The Nature Conservancy). Fee is $30 for full-time students and $52 for
general public. The fee includes breakfast, lunch, snacks, and handouts.
