A question came in the mail: what Android devices are known to support ADK?
I'm in a difficult spot here - I happened to have bought Nexus S which
is by definition compatible with Google's obscure toys, but it's kinda
just a *little* bit expensive for just running a HVAC system.
So far, the following devices are the ones that are *known* to support ADK:
- Nexus S
- Galaxy Nexus
- Motorola XOOM
I would suspect that Nexus 7 will also support ADK, and it seems to be
the best candidate at $200 (XOOM is still sold for $400+, which is
kinda silly).
Also, I've seen brief mentions that there are cheap Chinese made
tablets running Cyanogen that do support ADK. Anyone here knows
anything solid, or is willing to investigate?

Hmm, spoke too soon - actually the ZTE blade kernel on my phone (CM7 /
Android 2.3.7) doesn't seem to have CONFIG_USB_ANDROID_ACCESSORY present
in /proc/config.gz ...
It's possible that the CM9 (Android 4.0.4) builds do, but I haven't
tried them yet.
As I have a spare ZTE blade to play with DZ on I plan to get it working
myself.
What about these new Android "computers" that don't have screens? This seems ideal for the cost. Of course, you'd have to do everything via Remote after the initial config, but it would save you from buying a tablet. These things are REALLY getting cheap.
