Good morning, Spinners! Here’s a very nice introduction from the maker of Dazzling Dragonfly support spindles. I thought some of you might be interested.

Subject: Handturned Support Spindles
My name is Kevin Clingenpeel and my wife, Ann, and I have a small, home business designing and turning support spindles. Ann has been into fiber arts for a couple of decades now and when she began using support spindles a few years ago she asked me to make some for her. Being an experienced woodturner who had not had time to do it for a while it was great to get back into the swing of it. Recently I lost my job which gave me loads of free time that I spent perfecting several general designs for balance and spin. After favorable reception from local knitting shops we went live with an Etsy shop in Mid April and have shipped all over the US as well as the UK and Sweden since. I have attached one of our flyers which shows some of the spindles we have recently made and sold. We would really appreciate it if you would pass our information along to anyone who is interested in splindling. We could also send some business cards if your guild is interested. Just contact us via e-mail or by phone at 704-277-2522. Our Etsy shop is DazzlingDragonfly if you would like to look at some of the currently available spindles or we can do custom orders in many domestic or exotic hardwoods.
