Hello Everyone.

The Hollow Tree Spinners have once again been invited to have a booth at the Midwest Fiber and Folk Art Fair.  It will be held June 21-23 at the Lake County Fair Grounds in Grayslake, Il.  The guild will be given 9 passes to be used by guild members who man our booth.  Carol would like us to have at least one person in the booth at all times.  We would again be able to sell our spindle packages and give drop spindle spinning lesson.

To make this work, I need to know if we have enough volunteers.  I would be able to go on Friday and get things all set up and work a shift.  I could also go back at the end of the day on Sunday to dismantle our booth.  But because we have out of town company that weekend, I will not be able to help out on Saturday at all.

If you would like to attend the Fair and would like to do a shift at our booth, please notify me.  You can choose Friday, Saturday or Sunday.  AM or PM shift.  I would like to confirm the guilds availability to Carol by the end of the month.  That means I need to have an idea whether we have enough volunteers or not before the end of the month.  It really is fun to see a new spinner trying out a spindle for the first time.  By signing up for one shift, you would still have time to take a class that day and enjoy the vendors.

Please reply to Sharon Krengel at LKre...@mc.net.

Thank you,
Sharon

Hi, Spinners! Here's an email from a friend who's about to move and is
looking for a new home for her Ashford Traditional spinning wheel. The
Traditional is a little Saxony wheel, a real workhorse, and it has set the
standard for "new" spinning wheels since the 1930's, in continual production
since that time. The least expensive new ones are over $500, so this could
be a deal for someone. Give Deb a call if you're interested.

    Hi, Toni!

We are finally making our move out West and I must make use of my 512 sq.
ft. house as much as possible . . . which means, my big wheel has to go. My
husband got me a Traveller (although I'm having a devil of a time with it
bending over since my spinal surgery). However, I don't have room to store
    the big wheel.

Do you know of anyone who wants a used wheel? I'll throw in a couple of
    bobbins, too.

I'm putting in my Downsizing Sale starting next week at $175 . . . do you
    think that's reasonable?
