New Hampshire Bureau of Trails Snowmobile Trails Conditions Report
Tuesday December 15, 2009
We have had some good early season snowfall. Temps were unseasonably
warm the previous week and the ground did not freeze before the snow
arrived. Conditions are early season. Caution must be used as there is
open water bars. Some tree damage from early season snows in the north
country. Riders should avoid open bodies of water and stay off of
ice.
Coos County
NORTH COUNTRY TRAILS - Are currently being worked on by Clubs-
Anticipated opening on Thursday or Friday.
Presidential Rail Trail- Open for riding. Gates opening this week.
Carroll County
BEAR NOTCH/ in Bartlett is open for riding, The experimental forest
and the Notch road have been rolled.
Bartlett 8-10" of snow on the ground. Multiuse trail System. Watch for
Sled Dogs and Cross Country Skiers.
CORRIDOR 19 RR TRACKS From Ossipee to Conway, CLOSED not enough snow
to open yet.
CONWAY SCENIC RR TRACKS Are CLOSED-
CORRIDOR 15 CASTLE TRAILS- CLOSED due to warm weather and open water
bars. Gates may be open Thursday or Friday with the anticipation of
cold temps.
Grafton County-
Northern Rail Trail is open for riding
Belknap County- no report
Merrimack County- no report
Strafford County
Gates on the Rochester Farmington Recreation Trail have been opened.
Powder Mill reporting 60% of trails open with 10" of snow.
Corridor 22 From Johnsons to 28 CLOSED
Jesse Mountain CLOSED OPENING FOR MONDAY
Moose Mountain CLOSED
Rockingham County- No Report
Hillsborough County- No Report
Sullivan County-
Sugar River Rail Trail- 6" of snow. Open for riding
Claremont and Surrounding areas- Received 12" of snow over the last
week. Limited local riding with partial trail openings.
Cheshire County-
Pisgah and Ashuelot Rail Trail- 4" of snow
