Dear fellow comics fan:
We wanted to briefly get in touch to say that we're still hearing from
subscribers whose issues are arriving in the mail. We apologize for
the slow delivery, as Hogan's Alley #18 went in the mail before the
new year. (And international copies are also on the way to overseas
subscribers.) As we often find ourselves saying to readers, we
appreciate your patience.
We also just posted an interesting artifact on our website: the
manuscript of an address that the late cartoonist Jeff MacNelly
delivered to a graduating high school class in June 1980. We think
you'll find his comments and insights as timely and relevant now as
they were then. MacNelly's address has not been reproduced since its
recent resurfacing:

Lastly, we just made Hogan's Alley #18 available as a single-issue
purchase at
http://www.cagle.com/2007/11/subscribe/. Scroll to the
bottom of the page and click the Paypal button beneath the cover—a
mere $9 gets you the issue, postage included! (Or subscribe for four
issues, save some money, and get #18 as your first issue immediately!)
And don't forget to check out our online supplements to the new issue:

HOGAN IS TWITTERING: If you'd like to receive cartooning news and the
occasional cartooning-related observation from Hogan's Alley, we're
HOGANMAG on Twitter. We recently began sending Twitter followers a
"Today in Comics History" fact a day that has been fascinating. For
example, did you know that on this date—January 13—in 1930, Mickey
Mouse's daily newspaper strip made its debut? Or yesterday's fact:
George McManus's "Bringing Up Father" first appeared on January 12,
1913. You would know all this and more by following @HOGANMAG on
Twitter! Just click
