For
those interested in Green Jobs, Energy Efficiency and the environmental
benefits of wasting less gas and electricity in homes --
You might want to sign up for this Building
Science class June 1-5 at the Metropolitan Energy Center in Kansas City--
Great for any contractor interested in retrofits and weatherizing,
especially those with an interest in becoming a Home Energy Auditor.
This class teaches use of blower door and safety tests for combustion
appliances -- as well as providing an understanding of air quality, the movement
of air/moisture in homes, insulation and air sealing. It also teaches how to
collect and enter data into the computer software (REM Design) to prioritize
improvements and predict energy savings. This training covers all the building
science necessary to pass the Building Performance Institute's (BPI) Building
Analyst certification, and has been certified by the state of
Missouri.
