I saw this on the ps-one mailing list.

I haven't read Little Brother, but I think it would be fun to teach
attendees some stuff and have them go at each other lol

Would any of you be interested in speaking or attending something like
this in Chicago?

It's in Espanola, NM, near my home town of Albuquerque, too!

This guy set up a small lecture/lab series based loosely on some of the
lessons in Cory Doctorow's book Little Brother - the lecture series is
essentially an intro to security, privacy, and hacking on the internet.

The topics are:

- Social Engineering
- Being Sneaky (sending data in interesting ways, like steganography, PGP
keys, etc)
- Electronic Fingerprints - understanding what evidence you leave behind
- Codebreaking
- Viruses and worms
- Hacking the Web
- Launch an Attack
- Review

Is there anyone out there who might be interested in setting up a series of
talks similar to these? I think they would be a FANTASTIC class - not just
for kids, adults too. I'm just not qualified to teach this.

Zishan - I would definitely attend. Might be something cool for the
unconference portion of SocialDevCamp.

Also - Doctorow's latest YA novel is equally entertaining. For The Win
covers the formation of a Gold Farming union...http://craphound.com/
