Who are good people to talk to about Chicago startup events? HN Chicago included.

Hey, folks.

A friend of mine, Chris McCann runs StartupDigest, which is a great curated list of startup events in different cities around the globe.  It's my goto  calendar for cool startup events in Silicon Valley, not to mention that Chris has really helped us get the word out about our events to the startup community in San Francisco and Silicon Valley.  We've quadrupled in size this past year, since they've been promoting our events on their emails, and the people he sends our way have been very, very cool. 

Chris is trying to strengthen connections to the startup/hacker community in Chicago, and he's wondering who he should talk to about putting the HN Chicago events on their email list.  Any ideas or suggestions?  I'm sure he'd welcome introductions to other cool startup/hacker events in the area that you guys are aware of. 

I'll send him a link to this thread.  I'd really appreciate any help or connections that you guys could give Chris.

Chicago StartupDigest already exists with 1700+ subscribers. Are you talking about starting a 'HackersDigest' here?

Chris McCann runs both StartupDigest and HackerDigest.  He wanted to be sure to connect the Chicago curators with this group to ensure they were promoting the Chicago HN meetups.
