In addition to all the great workshops that HIVE76 will be doing in
their room, there will also be a Linux Installfest:

Ubuntu Village @ FOSSCON Sat August 11th

Ubuntu Village – All day INSTALLFEST – Bring your or your
friends/family laptops or desktops that you would like Linux installed
on and the Ubuntu US PA volunteers will assist you with the install.

Also, refurbished Linux laptops will be available (while supplies
last) FREE of charge to SUPPORTER registrants to FOSSCON.

These laptops are older and refurbished, and will have minimal RAM and
4 gig hd’s. Power supplies will not be provided, but are available at
NTR and online.

Fosscon Registration Info: https://www.wepay.com/events/fosscon-2012

NTR info: http://ntrweb.org/

Ubuntu Village volunteers needed and welcome.

Jordan,
.
I'd rather not blog about the installfest. The blog should have the
Hive76 workshops only. I took the opportunity to email the discussion
list as many may be interested in trying Linux and this is a perfect
opportunity to do so.

Thanks for the offer.

People are free to correct me, but I respectfully disagree. The blog
is yours as a member and you are encouraged to blog about projects you
are working on and events you are co-organizing and evangelizing. IMHO
the hive blog should absolutely be about driving traffic to other
sites just as much as talking about all the awesome stuff we are doing
out of hive itself. Don't be bashful, promote FOSSCON directly! It's
an amazing event and more people need to know about it (especially for
all the work you personally are doing for it!).
