A few of us were up on the viaduct on Saturday/Sunday. They have
already cleared a lot of it, so it looks much less like a medow that
it did even a few months back. Despite that we got a lot of great
photos, checked out the sinking sub-station, and even saw a Merlin.
We have another trip planned to hit the underground section of the
viaduct in a fwe weks, to get the whole thing in before it's totally
over/under run.

That is The Merlin, not A Merlin, as Far wrote. Also, The Merlin is a ninja and thus impossible to see in direct sunlight.

The reading company removed those rails, not the park project. The city kept fining them to make some revenue. I dont think the rails going away means they are starting construction any time soon... still it is some progress.

^^^ doubleplus good for mike on the bird ID. Yeah, they are tiny
hawks. Wee-hawken (which is also a city)
