Hello Everybody! My name is Mike, and I am thinking of joining Hive76. It
seems like a pretty cool place, and I want to see what it's all about.
A little bit about myself:
I'm going into my sophomore year in Drexel as a Computer Engineering major,
and I am currently working at Dow Jones & Co. in their network performance
and client engineering teams. Outside of my worklife, I love to
build/casemod computers(I currently have two projects I'm working on), as
well as robotics(was a very involved member of FIRST Robotics Team 87), and
pretty much anything that is cool in technology. Some of my other projects
include incorporating animatronics/robotics into things like props and
floats. I happen to be just as interested in software, but haven't found
myself the time to really sit down and teach myself a sophisticated
programming language(I can do simple scripting languages, and get by with
the arduino IDE).
Living in the city has made it a challenge to continue doing what I love to
do, and as such I am looking to join a hackerspace. I have been mostly
looking at Hive76 and NextFAB. I like the idea of Hive76; it seems more
like a group of people and projects, instead of just a business with
machines to use.
Anyways, I'd love to make it to an open house, but I am busy for the next
few Wednesdays, but I will make it to an open house sooner or later. Until
then, I'm hoping to get to know everybody/everything here!
