We met Shri Rakesh Mehta, SEC and Shri KS Mehra, Commissioner MCD who are keen to ensure that the Delhi Prevention of Defacement of the Property Act, 2007 is adhered to in the MCD Elections 2012.

Para 5 of the Section IV of the " MODEL CODE of CONDUCT" issued by SEC reads:

" The provisions of the Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 2007 should strictly be enforced"

To monitor and execute this, a squad along with a photographer & a videographer has been organised till 14 April, in each of the 12 MCD Zones. These squads have already started removing the defacement. 

I was with one such team on Friday, 30 March. This is a massive task.

There are over a crore posters all over Delhi and it requires about one Lakh man days to remove them.  No agency has this resource. But, if one crore citizens remove one each, Delhi will be cleaned in 5 minutes.

 

Pl liaise with the DC of your Zone and help the squad to clear your areas.

 You may take photo / video and upload on " POSTER HATAO INDIA" to encourage others.
