Hey folks, I know some messages have already gone out about the A2 mini Maker Faire but time is running out!  So get your exhibitor applications in soon (and yes, your weird project that you think isn't quite yet done is awesome enough, so bring it and sign up already!).   See below for details...

Also, if you want to get more people to see your booth from your school, workplace, or community feel free to print out these flyers - http://a2makerfaire.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/a2_mini_maker_faire_2013_v1.pdf

Description

Developers, artists, and enthusiasts will display their ideas at the fifth Ann Arbor Mini Maker Faire, June 8, in Ann Arbor.  Applications are sought from people and groups with engaging, cool projects.

Organized by members of the Ann Arbor tech and arts communities such as a2geeks (http://www.a2geeks.com) and GO-Tech (http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/notbago/), the Ann Arbor Mini Maker Faire is a small, local version of the huge Bay-area Maker Faire, the fair that brings together science, art, craft and engineering plus music in a fun, energized, and exciting public forum.

We aim to inspire people of all ages to roll up their sleeves and become makers. This family-friendly event showcases the amazing work of all kinds of makers--anyone who is embracing DIY and wants to share their accomplishments with an appreciative audience.

We encourage you to join the fun and enter a project to exhibit. You can submit an entry online at: https://a2makerfaire.wordpress.com/call-for-makers/

Entries

Entries can be submitted from individuals as well as from groups such as hobbyist clubs and schools.  Please provide a short description of what you make and what you will actually bring to the Mini Maker Faire. If you have them, please link to photographs or videos of what you make. Exhibits should be demonstration based, and we discourage exhibits intended to exclusively market or sell items to visitors. We particularly encourage exhibits that are interactive and that highlight the process of making something, including demonstrations or kits visitors can complete on-site or at home.

Maker Exhibit

Our standard setup for a Maker exhibit is roughly a 8' x 8' space with 6’ x 2’ tables.  Use this space to display your work and/or demonstrate how you make something.  Workshop/classes are also possible, please note this request on your registration form.

Additional presentation space (e.g., stage) may be available for presentations, performances, and demonstration workshops. We will ask accepted exhibitors for proposals to use this space on an hour-by-hour basis.

All proposals will be reviewed. Organizers will notify makers of acceptance via email by May 17 (for entries received by the deadline).

NOTE:  We cannot pay for transportation, accommodations, or other costs.
